Q: why wont my magic mouse 2 pair with my mac book pro

why wont my mew magic mouse2 pair with my mac book pro. So far I have upgraded my operatin system to El Capataine and checke blue tooth is turned on. The mouse hacs ben left to charge all day yesterday. However the port underneath does not light up as I would expect in a PC moouse even thought eh mouse is turned on to green?

Help?

Make sure your wireless mouse is turned on
"The Magic Mouse and Magic Mouse 2 have a slide switch on the bottom of the device. Slide the switch to turn on the device. On the Magic Mouse, the green LED will briefly light up. On the Magic Mouse 2, green will be visible."
