how do I store emails on my iphone?

I travel extensively and want to store the entire contents of my mail messages on my iphone, so when not connected I can view the emails. Now it tries to download the email when I open it and if I don't have connectivity, I can't get to my email, which may be directions, reservations, etc. that I need. I bought a 128 Gb phone so I have lots of room to store the messages. I have resorted to taking screen shots of my emails which is a pain. Am I missing something obvious?

I don't want my personal emails on the cloud.

I think caching is the key word here. For example, I just went to an email from 25 September and opened it. I got a message "loading message" which sits there for a few minutes before returning the message, "Cannot get Mail, the connection to the server failed" or the page says,"this message is only partially downloaded" (partially appears to mean heading only, no body of text). I cannot get to the message without a network connection. That is my issue. I want to keep all my emails on my phone, so I can open them whenever I need them without a network connection.
