I have a new WiFi and like to use my Time Capsule just for backup & storage. Previously the TC was performing both functions my WiFi and Backup. I have tried but it wont let me add the TC to another Wifi. Thanks in advance for help with guidance on this configuration.
Sorry, but Apple dropped this type of connection option over 3 years ago when they introduced the 6.x version of AirPort Utility in Lion (10.7.x).
If you have a Mac running an older operating system like Leopard (10.5.x) or Snow Leopard (10.6.x), or a PC with AirPort Utility installed on the device, it might be possible to set up the Time Capsule to do what you want.
I'm not recommending that you do this though.....since there are some real downsides to this type of setup...... just pointing out that it might be possible to do this if you want to try.
