my iphone 5c screen is unresponsive to touch

It was working fine when I went to bed but then when I woke up the next day, I was unable to unlock it. I've tried resetting by holding down the home and power buttons but that doesn't seem to do anything. I tried to contact it to my computer but I get a message saying to select trust on my iphone which I can't do since it is locked on the home screen. Any advice?
