Motorola Razr V3M can't connect via BlueTooth HELP!!!

Here's my problem, I am pairing up with my Razr V3m, but I guess I can't connect with it via my Macbook Pro. It doesn't display as one of my devices in the menu bar on top, but when I go into the Bluetooth preferences, it is in the device list there. The razr has a couple of details listed by it in the device list in the bluetooth preferences section:

Paired: Yes
Configured: Yes
Favorite: Yes
Connected: No

I need some help here to figure out what is going on.

Hi Greg,

I don't think the Razr is meant to show up in the Bluetooth drop-down menu, or at least mine doesn't. I have the original V3 and a Mac mini G4 with 10.4.8. Bluetooth preferences also lists the same items, except for one more: "Serial Port: Yes".

I think your V3m is already paired and ready to go. What happens when you click "Browse Device..." in the Bluetooth drop-down menu?

Ok, so I have the File Exchange program in my utilities folder. I start it and it seems like I can view what's on my phone, but then when I try to send something it gives me an error message saying "file type unaccepted." I've tried to send jpgs and mp3's and it has said unaccepted for both.

A box then comes up and says "send anyway" (even though the file type isn't accepted). So I choose that and then it says internal error on my phone and computer.

Hi Greg,

I'm afraid the only thing I have left to suggest is to re-pair the phone. Delete the pairing in both the phone and computer and start over. "Power cycling" the phone (switching it off, then back on) helped to resolve the initial hiccups in my case. You should try it, too.

I have also heard that some carriers in the US disabled features in the V3 series. Is there any way for you to find out whether this is behind your problems?
