Install this version

OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 Update

and there is no guarantee whatsoever CS5.1 will work. There have been users who claim they work perfectly, there are others who cant get the apps to launch or crash with the slightest click.

if you are currently using an OS where CS5.1 is stable make a backup with Time Machine before you install El Capitan and discover you're having issues so you can restore back to that point.

Hi abcdef?

I use Adobe Illustrator 5.x a lot.

What I did is that I installed El Capitan on a partition to test applications before I upgrade from Yosemite to El Capitan.

On that partition I only run El Capitan.

I could be possible even after you updated Java that it still doen't work.

You have to install Adobe (what ever you running) again.

I download a trail version of Adobe CC "Cloud" and that is running just fine on my partition.

From the partition where you have El Capitan installed you can go in Finder>Yosemite>Applications>Adobe and try to open the application from there.

Even when you do that, still a update from Java is asking.
