I apologize for any confusion in this regard. If you are using Apple Music and/or iTunes Match, it is expected behavior that removing a song from your device will remove it from the iCloud Music Library and any other device set up using the same account. Since the music is only temporarily cached and not permanently stored (except for songs selected for offline listening), you generally should not need to delete content to save space. This is outlined in the following article:
If you’re an Apple Music member or iTunes Match subscriber, removing music from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch also removes it from your iCloud Music Library. If you delete music on one device, it also deletes from your other devices. Learn how to delete media from your iCloud Music Library.
On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, if you don't make music available for offline use, it's cached using the space available on the device. The device will remove cache, and the cached music, as space is needed by the device.
