I suggest that you give Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac (Formerly Adwaremedic) a try:
http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
It is fast, easy and safe. I have personally used it with success.
A secondary alternative is this Apple support document:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987
And it is much more complicated and less comprehensive.
Ciao.
Two steps I can suggest:
If you know the website name -
Safari - Preferences - Notifications - locate the name of the website and deny it access to Notification Center
Safari - Preferences - Privacy - click on "remove website data"
(1054)
First, never use any kind of "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" software on a Mac. That's how you create problems, not how you solve them.
Disable Facebook notifications in the Internet Accounts preference pane, if applicable.
I found out the problem - it was a Chrome notification that was coming up so I have managed to disabled it now.
Thanks all
hi could you explain ? I have had the same problem from product testing. And since then have downloaded AVG Anti Virus, which has apparatenly detected many a malware/ anti virus.
how to get rid of this product testing thing and how far would it be corrupting my system. I hooked on to it from a Spam mail.
Do you use google chrome?
