Q: Are users of the new OS X El Capitan experiencing instability?

I'm using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) with OS X El Capitan, processor 2 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 of memory, with Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB for Graphics. The version number of my OS is 10.11.1 (15B42).

In the past couple of days I have experienced strange anomalies particularly with Safari. It sporadically locks up and/or the cursor becomes huge and non functioning. Web sites load VERY slowly. I have worked with on-line Apple Care technicians (at the senior level) and the only workable solution is to hard shut down and restart my computer. That works for some time but then the problems repeat. Is anyone else having these problems? What solution(s) did you find?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), see above for details
