Q: ableton - error 36 ....... HELP?!
Hi there,
Can anyone help me? I'm getting super frustrated / annoyed - I've spent two full days trying to resolve this to no avail . . .
Basically I'm having problems installing Ableton live 9 and keep getting an error 36 message when trying to copy the installer into applications as prompted.
I use my macbook for music production and haven't had any problems until I recently upgraded snow leopard to Yosemite. What a mistake that was!
Not only did it slow down my mac to almost unusable levels non of my audio drivers or vst plug ins worked any more.
After speaking to staff at my local Apple store I was advised that I would have to wipe the computer and reinstall snow leopard (not happy!).
I have now done this & due to the way that Yosemite affected my computer it took 2 full days (and I lost a fair bit of data).
I've reinstalled snow leopard and have re downloaded Ableton from their website, this is where the issue is:
When I run the installer I am prompted to drag the Ableton icon into the applications folder - when I do this I get the following message:
"The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “Ableton Live 9 Standard” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)"
Can anyone help me with this? I'm pretty annoyed with Apple over it!
Thanks for your time
Kris
