Oct 27, 2015 3:40 PM in response to madeupname99by Old Toad,Actually you've only added maybe 20 G to the storage due to the fact that both of the libraries make use of the same image data on the hard drive via hard links. As you add more photos to the Photos library it will grow but not the iPhoto library. Only the image files in the iPhoto library at the time of migration are shared with the Photos library this way.

Oct 27, 2015 3:50 PM in response to madeupname99by Terence Devlin,No it hasn't. Essentially what's happening here is that both apps claim to manage 400 or so gigs of data, but it's the same data, as they are linked using Unix Hard Links.

Oct 28, 2015 1:01 PM in response to madeupname99by madeupname99,So when I go to the apple and about this computer and hit the storage tab and I says I have 50GB on remaining storage . I really have 450GB of storage and I shouldn't be looking for ways to increase the storage avalable?

Oct 28, 2015 1:16 PM in response to madeupname99by Old Toad,Do you get the same numbers if you Control (right) - click on your HD icon on the Desktop, select Get Info from the contextual menu and check the Info pane for available space?
