How can I turn on predictive text when using spotlight search?

I'm able to use it on messages, notes, mail, & stuff just not on quick search/spotlight search

OK. In an app like Mail, when composing a message, you can turn predictive text on or off using that button as shown here:


User uploaded file


You can slide up to the predictive text button and change its setting.


The button is simply disabled in spotlight, where turning it on or off doesn't make sense.

I believe predictive text would defeat the way spotlight search works.


If you type part of a word in spotlight, that word fragment causes results to be indicated even before the entire word is typed. So whatever you are looking for will already be included in the results.

Ah, thanks for posting the screen shot. I never touched the emoji button while in spotlight (as you did to generate the pop-up). When I do so, I also see a predictive text button which I do not know how to click, as well as the English and Emoji rows (but not the others).
