To make sure we are on the same page, you created a new Apple ID under a new email address. Now when you update apps, you are seeing a prompt for the old Apple ID password. Let's see if we can get this sorted out.
Now because you have created a new Apple ID, you will need to delete those apps associated with your old Apple ID and then download them with your new Apple ID. The reason is that even though you don't use your old Apple ID, those apps that are currently tied to the old Apple ID. Following the steps that I previously stated will then link those apps.
One thing to keep in mind is that when doing that, you might lose data associated with those apps. For instance, a game with save data might be lost because they save within the app on your iPad, but something like Facebook would have the data saved on their end because you sign in with a username and password.
