Logic 9 not working.

This has been bugging me for a looooooong time and ive been hoping that the continual updates from Apple will finally sort it but STILL this has not happened! Basically, i stupidly agree to all OS updates (currently running OS X Yosemite 10.10.4) thinking that they will be sweet but a few updates ago my Logic Pro 9 started messing up. I thought this was down to my computer getting old or being too full of junk but i have a new macbook that is empty and is still having the same issue. Ive done some research and it appears that its to do with a previous update and it being a something to do with when you open a window (e.g. EQ display, or Reverb plugin) causing it to go slow a laggy AF! At this point in time apparently the only way to do it is to reinstall an old OS but that means backing up everything and trying to find the time to do it! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! Can Apple just sort it out with a new update so i can go back to making my terrible music that only my mum thinks is good because she is biased!?! Other than that, can someone PLEASE give me a quick and simple way to sort this issue out with out going through all the previously mentioned longness!

Thanks a freaking bunch!

1) Why doesn't Apple answer the questions that we ask about Logic Pro?

2) I have asked for your duplicate thread to be removed.. Please only post one thread on any given subject.. Thanks!

3) Logic Pro 9 has been EOL'd by Apple which is why there have been no updates for a long time...and so is no longer is officially supported under modern OS X versions.. though I have few issues with LP9 and 10.10 other than poorer performance, due to the extra demands OS X makes on older hardware... under 10.10...

Solutions?

a) Roll back to a previous working configuration using your Backups... Many of the regulars here still run 9.1.5 / 9.1.8 under 10.6.8 for the most stable/best performing combo of Logic and OS X

b) Upgrade to LPX which under 10.10 works very well if you have the hardware to handle the extra loads caused by the newer OS X versions.

Cheers..

I'm a teacher? That's news to me.....

...and as for my comments to you? They are based on your attitude shown in your first post where you blame everyone except yourself when in fact, it's mainly your own fault you are in this situation because you didn't take sensible precautions first before you upgraded OS X....

If that comes across as condescending, then so be it.... but it's the reality we see here, over and over again... and it gets real old, real quick....

it says in your profile 'musician/teacher'..... i see im wrong, you are actually 'Captain Internet' here to make us simpletons feel reaaaal stupid! If you see this issue 'time and time again' then surely apple should give more of a heads up to tell us simple folk that the software we paid hundreds for will be rendered useless?! But i guess thats not a good business model right? Unfortunately i do not have time to look through multiple forums looking to see if im going to get bumped by a large corporation! If you could climb down of steve jobs ghost nuts for a second then maybe you would understand why the whole issue winds me up?!

Ah..... Not that sort of Teacher.....but I get where you are coming from now.. My 'kids' are somewhat much older though.... šŸ™‚

I should also add.. It's not that I disagree with your comments about Apple and the recent issues with updates.....because, many of us here, think much the same..

It was the attitude I was commenting on, in what is... a User supported forum...

We, like you, are just users.... and despite our best efforts.. here and elsewhere... people continue to update/upgrade because they want the 'latest and greatest' without taking the time to do some prior research and make clone backups....and then come here to complain... The excuse of "I don't have enough time' just doesn't ring true because in reality, if using Logic is important to you , you should make time to do some basic research first.... or don't complain about it, if you don't and then things go tootsies up... How do you think the rest of us Users here.. learn about everything? We all have primary jobs and helping out here is just something we do in what little spare time we have...

Anyhow..

As I said, it gets old real quick.... so maybe I was a little 'testy' earlier.......but please take some responsibility for your own actions too. šŸ™‚

Cheers..
