Keyframe goes back to original position

I am a novice in FCP X and I am trying to move a picture from x to y.

I have established how to use key frames to move the pic and I have actually scaled it as well.

BUT after my last key frame that moves it to a different position it reverts back to the imported position.

What am I doing wrong please?

thanks

You have the basics. 🙂

Here's my visual method:

No.1 Select the upper clip in your Timeline and choose the Transform option.

Move the playhead to the desired position, then resize/move whatever you like. Use the Blue dots.

No. 2 Click the Keyframe button

No. 3 Move the Playhead to the new position in the Timeline.

You are Done. No need to add another keyframe.

In the example below the small flower moves from top left to bottom right.

Notice the motion path. You should see this red dotted line.

The flowers Anchor point will follow the red line.

At each end of the Motion Path is an arrow looking thing, keyframe.

Once you have a Motion Path you can right click anywhere along it and add additional Keyframes.

Also right click on added Keyframes to give additional control points etc.

You should be able to make stuff bounce all over the place.

AWESOME... not only a quick reply but descriptive pictures too AND exactly what I was describing.

Now I might be bugging you if you can help....

If I have 20 "flowers" all different, my timeline is going to be very cluttered is there any way to resolve this.

I have approx 26 people I want to 'montage' into a background shot.

Is there any way (like in Photoshop) you can create an Action? Or is this a 'Motion' thing?

MUCH appreciated if you can help
