Q: El Capitan has killed HP Scanjet G4050.

After update to El Capitan OS X 10.11 the HP Scanjet G4050 is not found and can't be used.
Solution asked.

    Hello Piradem,

     

    Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

     

    I understand how frustrating it can be when a piece of hardware, your HP printer, isn’t compatible with your computer’s new operating system. I have done some looking into this situation and do not see your printer’s software available for download via Software Update on your Mac. 

     

    I also checked directly on HP’s website to see if they had drivers available for direct download to your Mac. It appears they only offer drivers for that printer model up to OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

    After 5 months Problem solved!

    This month software for OS X 10.11 to use the HP Scant G4050 became available

    After download and installing, the scanner works again.

    There are two options:

    1. HP Easy scan

    2. Picture loader (has more options for scanning.
