Itunes login problem

I successfully downloaded iTunes 7.0. The icon is now on my destop and for some reason when I click on it it takes me back to the install assistant popup. If I cancel it it will then take me to my library. How do I stop the program from going to the install assist every time I log on??? Thanks hop someone out ther can help.. Corey M
