if my iPod bttery is half way and I plug it in a wall power outlet the battery drains but it has the charging sign on it. When I plug the wire onto my laptop it charges. There's nothing wrong with the wall power outlet because my iphone 5 works on it. Please help.

Are you using the same cable as works on the phone?

Try another wall charger for both iPod and iPhone.

Maybe an intermittent problem with the existing wall charger.

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
