VLC is not working on my mac, any one can help me fix this ?

I have OSX Yosemite Version 10.10.5, and Trying to play Movies in different format, usually VLC was my perfect Solution. now VLC is giving me an error message:

"VLC media player requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher."

Such problem happened after I installed Yosemite.

Any one have faced this problem and know how to solve it?
