iphone 6 carrier button missing

Wondering if it's a hardware issue or something. Phone is in good shape, never dropped or gotten wet etc.

Iphone stuck on "searching" and the "carrier" option is missing from settings. I tried doing a factory reset, restart, taking the SIM out, but no dice so far...
