How do you fix the error "The font .AppleSystemUIFont is missing"

This just seemed to appear yesterday. It does not effect the spreadsheet but it is annoying.

I contacted AppleCare this morning. We tried a few things but it did not solve the issue.

They told me to click the box and the warning will not show up anymore. That really does not solve the issue ... something changed.

I don't have a solution, but I've also observed this behavior. I'm pretty sure this is a bug in Numbers somewhere, because .AppleSystemUIFont is really something that should only be exposed to a programmer, not to a user. Out of curiosity, have you used the spreadsheet in question on an iOS device? If so, what iOS version.

For myself, the sheet has been opened on an iOS device, but not in a while. It was probably under iOS 8 when it was opened.

I can confirm seeing the same message. I think I did open the document once on iOS, but not recently.

Apple, what are you going to do?

I have the same problem. Original document was created on iMac and then edited on other MacBook Pro. Now, when I open document on iMac, this error pops up. Both comps are with latest Mac OS X (10.11.1) and latest Numbers (3.6 b2557).

I have the same problem. Original document was created on (new) iMac, OSX Yosemite, after installing the upgrade OSX El Capitan the same error pops up.

Updating Numbers to 3.6.1 (2566) didn't solve the problem. It seems Apple has change the system font (because of the Apple watches?)

Possible Font Verdana Problem. replace all Verdana fonts (regular, Italic, bold, bold Italic) in system folder and library folders. Please let me know the result.

Same problem here. worked for a couple of days on a Numbers document under OS X 10.11.1.

Never opened this file on any other device.

Today the error message started popping up.

Does not happen with documents just / newly created. Odd....

add on: even the same file from my TimeMachine backup now shows this behaviour - more than strange...

Copying all tables into a new document helped...

Same here. I was working on a Numbers document on my iMac. It was created in Numbers. I have closed and opened it many times. All of a sudden, I received this error when I opened it. I am unable to get rid of the error (without clicking the "Don't warn me box"). I even changed all of the text to a different font, and that did not get rid of the error message.

Same issue... Tried saving the file under a new name - did not help. Resorted to clicking the box in the error msg so the warning will not show up anymore. That does not solve the issue ...

Just to pick up tom.goecke's suggestion re copying tables fixing the problem, creating a new spreadsheet and copying the data worked for me too.

In my case, I created a new spreadsheet file and then copied each of the sheets in turn (rather than all the individual tables) from the faulty spreadsheet to the new spreadsheet, and that seems to have fixed the problem.
