Optimum online POP account

IOS 9.1, IPad 4th generation. Giving it to my father in-law and want to configure his email for him. His account is with Cablevision, Optimum online, and they only support POP. When I try and add his email via Mail -> Add account -> Other, it takes all the information and thinks it can be an IMAP account. There does not seem to be anyway to change it to a POP account or configure it as such. Ideas?
