How to create lists within a cell? Adding bullets?

I have a spreadsheet I've created with Numbers 3.6. I am trying to add bullets inside a cell to a list. How can I add bullets to cells using Numbers 3.6?

Here's one way to do this (Numbers isn't designed to be a word processor, so this isn't particularly convenient).

1. Choose Show Emoji & Symbols

2. Click in the Numbers cell and then double-click the bullet symbol you want

3. Type the rest of the line for that "bullet point" followed by option-return

4. Repeat for next line

Hey mate.

The new version of Numbers actually gives you the option to do this. Make sure your data type is set to Text in the cells where you want to make your lists.

After the first line, hit Option+Return, and you will be given the regular Pages formatting options for bullets in the Inspector. As you Option+Return for each point in your list, Numbers will automatically list your points using the bullet format you have selected.

Hope that helps!

Hi J'

In Numbers 3.6, this is pretty easy:

User uploaded file

Click on a cell to select it.

Click again to place the insertion point in the cell.

Press option-8 to enter a bullet character, then type a space

type the first item in the list

press option-return to start a new line (with bullet and space included)

type the next item on the list

repeat bold steps as needed.

Barry
