However, if you connect your phone to your computer using the charging cable, you can drag the pictures off just as you would from any removable drive. Should take you hardly any time at all.

Oct 29, 2015 3:33 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby stephen714,That is what I had been doing for a long time. However 2 things, the information here on Apple and iCloud.com shows my iPhone using iOS 8 when in reality I have iOS 9 installed and since iOS 9 I have been unable to use the cable to copy pictures to my pc. The Windows import dialog used to open when I plugged in the iPhone but that stopped after the iOS 9 update. The senior tech on Wednesday said that iOS 9 does not support the cable transfer. I find that hard to believe but that is the case on my iPhone 6. This leaves me no way to get pictures to my computer. This is absurd and makes all the ads for iPhone's great camera seem kind of silly when this makes the iPhone camera useless for me.

Oct 30, 2015 1:46 PM in response to stephen714by Bob Reynolds,Have you turned on My Photo Stream on your iPhone and in the iCloud control panel on your PC? Also, ensure that you are logged on to the same iCloud account on both devices. New photos will then stream to your Download folder on your PC. Unfortunately, this doesn't transfer your entire library though, just newly taken photos.
You should be able to transfer the entire library using iCloud Photo Library but this will probably require purchasing additional iCloud space and, unfortunately, Photo Library doesn't seem to be working properly yet on Windows 10.
You could also ditch iCloud completely and synch your phone to your PC using iTunes WiFi synch.
