Bootcamp still won't recognize my Windows 8.1 ISO

Hello guys,

I want to install Windows 8.1 in my Macbook Pro Retina early 2015, i got the Windows 8.1 DVD and then made the ISO and saved it to desktop. I started bootcamp, next-next, and i choose the Iso file, clicked continue, but Bootcamp won't recognize my ISO, it said i must use Windows 8 or later version and blablabla i can't remember what it said completely.

My Windows 8.1 64bit DVD contain startup.exe, boot, etc etc. I got this DVD from my friend, maybe he downloaded the Windows 8.1 64bit from microsoft and then burned it to this DVD. When i installed Windows from Parallel, it won't recognize too, but i could select the Windows version, so i choose Windows 8 and it installed perfectly, so no doubt for my Windows DVD. But, i prefer bootcamp than parallel, so could you guys help me?

DVD which are mixed mode (32-bit/64-bit) do not work. If your W8 installation worked on a PC, using the same DVD, it implies that the DVD had multiple versions of Windows on it.

If you need W8.1 64-bit, you can directly download it from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home as an ISO and install. It is much reliable then a DVD that your 'friend' gave you . 😉
