Use a new remote if the AppleTV is paired with another, lost, remote

My daughter has lost the remote that is paired with her AppleTV.

How do I use another remote / device on her AppleTV? The advice on Apple page says to navigate to the settings>general>remotes page and remove the old remote but I can not see how you can do this without the remote?

Am I missing something here????

You would need to borrow or purchase another remote

Vazandrew,

thanks for your answer. I have 5 or 6 remotes. My query had been how to unfair the missing device from the AppleTV.

I've worked it out now (use another remote and hold menu and left buttons for six seconds).
