how do i add iCloud accounts to mac mail

Hello all, How do i add iCloud accounts to mac mail, they work on iPad and iPhone,

I try to add accounts in mail, it asks me to sign apple ID, then disappears..

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), macbook pro, Iphone6s, iPad, iPod

Try System Preferences/Internet Accounts - make sure you are signed in, then press the + at the bottom left and select iCloud to set up the account.
