Q: my brother died last month and he has ipad mini but its not working bcoz we disable it we wanted to reset is it reuires us to provide his apple id and password ? help me plss


my brother passed away last month.. and he has ipad mini since we don't know about his password we disable it and now we want it to factory reset is I requires us to provide his apple i.d and password ?  we don't know actually his emails or his private mails tnx,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    Sorry for your loss you need to make an appointment at apple store .

    Take proof of purchase & a death certificate & any other paperwork .

    oh! but anyway thank you Brian for the very good ideas and suggestions,, and if ever I can make it to have my brothers complete documents about his death and had complete requirements  to present in Apple store is it takes a days before they will approved it ? and actually I communicate and talk about my mother this issue and my mother was so busy for her responsibilities working abroad. and I am currently living and residing in the Philippines right now and I think I need more efforts and spend much time for this however I am so interested to fulfil the requirements that they need since All Apple product gadgets is very smart, wonderful, incredible and worth.. I am using IPhone 6+ actually and I really appreciate the service of apple that's why  I am so eager to fix this Issue….

    by the way brian, I am sti trying to connect the ipod in iTunes and of course i followed the steps procedure to restore it but when i started to connect it in iTunes its says that restore and update, then i click it then it says again that ''your Ipad is downloading the software to restore it into factory reset'' then after 15 mins its change into  '' iTunes is currently downloading the software for ipad.''iPad''




    > is it possible to restore it and make theres a chance to use it again ??''  because if there is.i will stop asking to my mother for the documents a=because it takes much effort and time hope u understand me .. and so sorry for the inconvenience and thank you very much for the support and knowledge its appreciated

    First of all, Sorry for your loss. I'm a former Marine and have lost friends and family to natural causes and war so I know that really *****.

     

    Call AppleCare (800-692-7753), and let them know whats going on. There is a process though so just keep that in mind and you will need some documnets.
