why is iCloud calendar locked for maintenance for days

My iCloud calendar has been locked for maintenance for several days. Why and how do I get it unlocked?

I'm having the same problem. Apparently they've "never seen this before." My calendars and reminders are locked for maintenance and not syncing between devices, even though all of my other iCloud apps sync fine. My problem was sent to the engineers who couldn't figure it out, so I just had to put my account into troubleshooting mode so the engineers can replicate the problem on their end and (hopefully) fix it. It's been almost 2 weeks now with no resolution.

2 weeks? That's certainly unacceptable! 😟

They also told me they had never seen this problem before even though you reported the same problem before I did. They referred it to engineering but I've heard nothing in almost a week. Earlier today I asked for a status update but no response yet. I'll let you know if I get a resolution.

That's really unacceptable that people's calendars aren't working for 2 weeks or more! Come on Apple!

I have been having this problem for a couple of weeks now. It is now in the hands of the engineers after contacting Apple Support on several occasions. Browsing through other forums it is clear that there are hundreds of other people experiencing the same problem, however each Apple person you speak to continues to say that they have not heard of this problem before. Some people have had no calendar for seven weeks or more. Very difficult when you run a business through Calendar.

Though my problem was different, it, too, was referred to the Apple Engineers after I jumped through a bunch of hoops. They were unable to fix my problem - and it still exists 2 years later. I don't know about Apple Engineers - plus I was working with a Senior Advisor. Good luck!

2 years? 😮

What calendar app do you use now?

I ran into a similar thread where an individual had the same problem and Apple Support wasn't able to resolve his issue. He eventually started using Google Calendar as he was without a calendar for over 2 weeks.
