Q: kernel panic - GPU RADEON D4850

Hello,

my gpu doesn't want to boot and my iMac 27 2009 showed this kernel panic.

Any idea from where it would come from ?

Thanks

Post the complete Kernel Panic report. Instructions are in Mac OS X: How to log a kernel panic - Apple Support and we can look to see if we notice something.

Your 2009 iMac likely has a hardware issue. You can use Hardware Test in extended mode 2-3 times. If error codes appear that only confirms the issue.

Earlier you mentioned the GPU, why do you suspect that?

Because it has been quite a while that my iMac have these issues, and by removing the GPU drivers I made my Mac work fine on its CPU. Even if I was quite sure of the issue I told myself that maybe it was a driver problem and it would have been fixed in an update (because my GPU crashed just after Yosemite update).

I already tried the hardware test but in any cases it crashes every time.

But anyway it doesn't worth a repair at the Genius Bar, I could fix it myself but I can't find a place to buy it. Any idea ?

    Thanks for your quick answer

If you removed the GPU drivers then you probably caused your own problem. You should NEVER EVER mess with OS X system files. Try to boot into the Recovery Partition and re-install OS X and see if that helps.

Ok I installed the new OS now in verbose it says that my airport (en1) can't get a complete sequence (16 normally here 8). Then it goes on the white screen for eternity as usual.
