Q: iMac G3 OS 9/ OS X Troubleshoot

Hi all, I had recently got a iMac G3 with OS 9.2.1 and the downloaded version of OS X 10.1. The operating systems are under one partition, but are different startup OS systems. I had clicked on the OS 10.1 not knowing it would not boot. It is stuck in a startup screen with a cracked folder, and there is no way I can get back to the OS 9.2.1. Is there any way that I can get back to that OS without having to get a new hard drive or download the OS again?

I much appreciate the help.

From where did you download OS 10.1? I know of no safe source for that OS version.

I Read that the download was put on the newer models along with OS 9, but it was pretty much useless because it doesn't even work.

But the main processor was OS 9 at the time.

* opt -- Bring up OF system picker on New World machines.
iMac g3 400 or newer machine
* cmd-opt -- Hold down until 2nd chime, will boot into Mac OS 9 ?
