Album artwork problem

In the iTunes library I added an artwork to all my albums and whenever i click the song i can see the album, in iTunes but when i disconnect my iPod and play the song of an album which i added an artwork to, it doesn't show it. The pciture simply isn't there.
And there are a couple of albums I have which came with artworks by themselves and I can see those so it's not that I disabled the option to view the picture of the album in my ipod.

Help, please.

Did you add the artwork to the songs in the iTunes library and not directly to the songs on the iPod?

You must add artwork to the songs in iTunes first, not directly to the songs on the iPod (through iTunes).

If you add artwork directly to the iPod, the artwork is not displayed when playing songs.
