Yes. Just enable home sharing on the computer with your iTunes library and share on the ATV and you can view your media files (photos movies, music) in the my library app on the ATV

I have enabled home sharing on my new iMac 21inch with 4K screen and the 4th Gen Apple TV.  But only my photos show up when I go to the Computers "app" on Apple TV.

Home sharing worked great on my 3rd Gen Apple TV.  Not sure what the issues is.  In iTunes the only movies that show up are the ones I've bought from Apple.  All the DVDs I ripped used to be in Home Movies.  The files are on my computer, but do not show up in iTunes anymore.  There's not even a "Home Movies" category in iTunes.

Any ideas what the problem is and how to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

IT would be my assumption then that your "home videos" were ripped using an invalid codec/bitrate that the ATV4 no longer supports. There are other threads that may help with finding ways to convert them. My entire ripped library (10,000+) has been working but have seen others with a similar issue that your reporting...

thanks for the suggestion. Looks like it was an issue when I transferred my data from my old iMac to the new one. The movie files transferred but weren't part of the new iTunes library. I just dragged the files into iTunes and they showed up as home movies in iTunes and now on my apple to 4th gen.
