Q: Stuck in iTunes logo screen

Hi,

I bought an used iPhone 5S for my daughter.

It came with iOS 8.4.1 and we tried to upgrade to 9.1 with the iPhone but it kept giving an error.

So we connected the iPhone to a PC and upgraded via iTunes.... But when the upgrade was installing it stopped at about 2% to 5%...

Now when I try to upgrade it gets stuck at 2% to 5% and if I try to recover it's at 5% to 10%..

Every time I try to recover or upgrade I get error 14. The log is this at the end of the post (it's the same in any situation)...

I tried to enter DFU without success... The iTunes logo show right as the phone is turned on..

What can I do to fix this? Go to an Apple store?

Thanks,

Pedro

I have a Mac VM and tried to recover the phone in the Mac iTunes....

It gave a larger log file that said: "ASR progress: Broken pipe" just before the "operation 13 progress 100" and ending the process.

Is the iPhone "lost"? Is there any hope for it?

    Thanks,

    Pedro

The following support article may help you narrow it down.

Get help with iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support

    Check your USB connections

    Errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4005, 4013, 4014. You might also see a message that includes "invalid response."

If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you might not be able to update or restore.

To narrow down the issue, try different equipment:

If you still see the error message, check for hardware issues.

    Hi,

I tried 3 different PCs, 2 cables and even a Mac VM and the on progress 13 it only write 1, 5, and then goes to 100. And ends with error...

I managed to get it to go to about 12% once but never again it happened.

I'll a Mac Book Pro from a friend on monday and see what happens...

But there's no problem with the cables or PC since my iPhone 6+ recovered without any problems... I made a backup and the made a full recovery to see it worked and it did (big risk to loose the 6 also but I'd already made it and worked fine).

    Thanks,

    Pedro

    Didn't work....

As soon as I plug the cable the phone is detected by the PC... Always.. There's no problem with that...

I can't enter DFU mode because when I turn on the phone the iTunes logo shows up right away...

    Thanks,
