    I see you are a new user here in Apple Support Communities - welcome! I hope we find you contributing often in the future.

     

    It sounds like you are having an issue with restoring your iPhone, getting an error 3194 when you do so. You have tried editing your hosts file but the restore still fails. Is that correct?

     

    I really appreciate the information on the steps you have already taken. This article gives further steps for your issue - If you see Error 3194, Error 17, or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build' in iTunes. I would suggest first checking the methods for editing the hosts file to make sure this was done correctly, then go on to the other steps.
