Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My brand new Apple TV seems to be suffering a lot to stream both audio and audio & video.
I already tried replacing the router from N300 to AC 1750, updating all softwares, restarting all devices, calling Apple without luck.
Any ideas on what could be happening here? I bought the Apple TV with the ONLY goal of streaming videos to the computer and then to the TV.

Let me see if I understand this. So the current Apple TV cannot play iTunes Movies that I have bought from iTunes? And Apple is not planning to fix this? What am I missing? Does Apple not want to sell anything on iTunes anymore?
As I've posted previously, I can confirm Apple's tvOS update has resolved this issue for me. Home Sharing of my local content, at least for all the problematic movies I've been posting about is now buffering properly. My Apple TV is connected to my LAN via an Ethernet switch.
I manually forced an update of the Apple TV operating system, and then was able to finish watching the movie I had purchased via iTunes. Another user has posted that this sort of problem is recurring, and updating the OS fixes it only until it recurs again. It seems like this problem has been around for a long time, and Apple has no desire to fix it. Time to start buying content from Amazon instead.
My iTunes purchased movies play fine on my 4th gen Apple TV.
I am not sure if my Apple TV is 4th generation or not. The model number on the bottom is written in the smallest font I have ever seen, and is black on black. I cannot imagine what Apple was thinking. Perhaps it is only there for forensic purposes. It looks like model A1625, but without a microscope it is hard to know.
If you turn off instant start in the settings it will buffer instead of direct stream.
