Photos app opens on startup

Just upgraded to El Capitan. Now Photos app opens on startup but I don't want it to and it isn't set as a startup item. Also the Photo app was not open when I last shut down with 'Reopen windows when logging back in' selected.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Do you have a camera, media card, or iPhone/iPad attached?

Photos will automatically launch and ask you if you want to Import from those devices.

If you don't want that to happen, on the Import window in Photos, uncheck the box to import from that device with Photos.
