Q: Why is the fan so noisy on my MacBook Pro?

I bought a MacBook Pro (15 inch with retina display) in August. The fan is so noisy. To be honest, I never heard the fans running on my previous MacBook Pro laptops. I also had a Apple Genius take a look at it a couple weeks after purchase because it was running hot every time it went to certain pages on the web. The guy looked at it, could find nothing wrong, and suggested I just not use those websites. Really?

The fan is so noisy.

Then you're under warranty. The, "fan is so noisy," is not something that has much meaning, it's all relative to what you think is normal.

Use Activity Monitor to identify any applications that are cpu intensive, they will be the ones that are causing excessive heating.
