Q: 15" MBP Mid 2010, need to downgrade from El Capitan to Mavericks.
Hello,
I upgraded my 15" MBP Mid 2010 to El Capitan a few days ago, now I want to get back to mavericks.
Here what I have tried:
- I downloaded 10.9.5 from app store and made a bootable USB disk using Diskmaker X 5 (all goes well up to this point)
- I restart holding option key, the USB boot option is there.
- Then.. Whenever I try to boot from USB, it shows a prohibitory sign, it just stuck there (light-grey screen with that sign)
Could you guys help me on how to get back to Mavericks? anything I could try?
Does internet recovery option will work with 15" MBP mid 2010?
Note: I have no timemachine backup, so that is not an option.
Thanks in advance.
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11), null

THank you for the link, i found the problem and able to fix it.
turns out that my usb stick isn't formatted properly before, Reformatted it with the GUID opt this time, and it works. Installing mavericks now, so happy .
Thanks!
