Q: Yellow and green light stays on (iPod shuffle 1st gen)
Hello everyone,
I am experiencing some issues with my iPod shuffle 1GB 1St generation.
The unit itself, used to work fine from day one, however, a problem appeared once I loaded my last (larger in length files) to the iPod shuffle.
It all started when some weird behavior started on my iPod.
When i pressed the battery check button, the front green light would light up and then the iPod would start to play music (as it should - on either shuffle on normal play mode)
However, I was not satisfied with this thing so I tried to format my iPod with iPod reset utility on my windows computer.
The restore - reset utility somehow succeeded but after that, there is no way to play, transfer or move music from the iPod.
iTunes does not recognize the iPod or it will recognize my iPod and say that "This iPod need to be restored before use", which is done with iPod reset utility.
When I try to reset the iPod again, the iPod reset utility says that there was a "disk write error" immediately after I hit the reset key.
The iPod itself, does not seem to be responsive.
The green and yellow light will stay on for some period of time but then, nothing.
It does also worth mentioning that the lights on the iPod itself, do not seem as bright as they used to and the battery check light does not light up at all when the button is pressed.
When plugged in to an iPhone charger, the iPod does not appear to charge (a.k.a does not light the orange light)
Is there anything I can do to make my iPod usable again?
Thank you for your time.
iPod shuffle, Windows 7
