What kind of edits do you want to do?
You can launch GarageBand, and then drag the audio file to an empty spacein the track area.
You can trim the audio region of the imported audio fle and apply filter sto it, but you cannot change the pitch or the tempo, unless you save it as a new loop.
I've been converting old 33 1/3 albums to M4A's, but sometimes I forget to stop the conversion well after the album is done playing. So I want to "crop" the end off. It looks like simply dragging the file to an empty space in the track area worked.
