Oct 31, 2015 1:09 PM in response to Mich5by sberman,It all depends on where you save your photos (if in fact you saved them at all), and whether you have done iPad backups.
Photos on the iPad's Camera Roll are saved in an iPad backup. Photos taken since the last backup that are still on Camera Roll are gone, unless you use iCloud Photo Library or Photo Stream.

Nov 2, 2015 10:41 AM in response to Mich5by Briansyddall,★HelpfulHi
When you charge an iPhone /iPad it automatically backs up to iCloud so you stand a very good chance of still having your photos .
If you get another apple device use same apple ID / password .
Cheers

Nov 2, 2015 10:53 AM in response to sbermanby Mich5,Thanks for your help. The ipad was mostly used by my 11 and 9 year old so I am not sure if the backup was turned on. Hopefully it was and once I get a new one I will use the same id and be able to check this. Unfortunately we didn't realise it had a find my phone option so won't be able to use that facility. Feel really stupid that I wasn't aware of that but will definitely use it in the future. We had spent the day in LEGOLAND discovery in Manchester and it was stolen just as we were distracted in the shop before leaving. Thanks for the helpful info from everyone.
