Q: how to shut off journaling

Running a malware checker which told me to shut off journaling. Go to disk utility, highlight any drive and no shut off options appear in file or anywhere. Drives are labeled as journaled. How do you shut off journaling?

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), iOS 7.1.1

Get rid of the worthless "malware checker" according to the developer's instructions. Never install any "anti-malware" software again. Back up all data before making any changes.

In disabling journaling you are sacrificing file system integrity.

Entrusting the security of your Mac's file system to a "malware checker" is asking for trouble.

If you are having problems with your Mac, describe the symptoms.

You know, everybody, I didn't ask what would happen, whether it's bad or good, or how much my system is in danger. I asked how to shut off journaling. Get rid of worthless malware checker according to developer? Which developer? The one sitting in his armchair with the condescending attitude that was not ASKED FOR? IF I want advice, I'll ask for it. ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS how to shut off journaling, I didn't ask for OPINIONS. If I wanted that, I'd ask Ann Landers.

In the Terminal, type, man diskutil

It will give you the instructions on how to do it.

You actually paid for your malware checker, didn't you?
