Q: My pointer is jumpy when I use a Magic Mouse on Mac Pro 10.7.5
Purchased a new Magic Mouse for my old 2006 Mac Pro and it tracks very poorly compared to the $10 wired USB Logitec which I was using previously. I have also used it with my MacBook Pro without nearly as many issues with constant pauses and stalls. Could it be an issue with the OS? I don't have other bluetooth devices nearby so I doubt it is an issue with interference.

Could it be an issue with the OS?
That last item in the article you cited would tell you. Safe mode loads a minimal set of extensions, so much less chance for something to interfere.
Do you have a graphics tablet?
Are you still getting input from the mouse you left behind? That Mac uses "all devices active", it can't tell you don't want to use the old pointing devices.
