Q: Does ANYONE Have a Working iPad with 1000+ Apps after Updating to iOS 9.x?

after extensive testing and failures on 5 different model devices, it appears the fix for the high number of apps fixed in 8.4 is now broken, but not rebooting the device.

issues include failure to upgrade to iOS 9.x - even 9.0.x > 9.1

unable to restore backup. Quits installing after a period of time even though it restored successfully onto 8.4.1 device

same issues even if setting up as new device.

unable to backup device

unable to update apps. Downloads but does not install.

unable to to install new apps. Downloads but does not install

unable to delete apps. Like a Zombie, they return after power cycling

have spent over 1,000 hours on this. Same issues on iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iphone 6s, iPad Air

lokking for ANYONE who has iOS 9x with 1000+ apps that can do the above successfully

thx

"have spent over 1,000 hours on this."

I've told you a million times not to exaggerate.  You should make an appointment with an Apple Genius, and discuss your options.

thanks for your non-helpful attitude which only make you look foolish

this has been documented with 2 Apple Senior Advisors who have been working on it for several months. My iTunes account has service mode turned on and Apple has loaded (or I should say attempted) to restore on a 9.x device. Image restores with no issues to 8.4.1,devices.

Have been to Apple genius Bar 4 Times.  They felt the backup was bad til I proved that i could brick any virgin phone setting up as new if it was on iOS 9.x.

    I Won (and thus lost)

Furthermore, their lead service is in the Apple Engineering Group and he has never seen anything like it

so take your attitude and stuff it!

Depends on device but in bricking a virgin/new device, where i was not really interested in organization, only to prove end result for testing purposes, did it with 15 folders. Generally I have 80-85 folders.

I'm just curious as to why you would spend that much time on this? What are you trying to accomplish?

Do you really need 1000 apps or are you just trying to show it can't be done ?  Like Meg St. Clair I'm uncertain  as to the goal of this exercise.

That's 25  40 hour working weeks. Six months. I would have given up a lot sooner.

Claiming you have spent 1,000 hours on it makes YOU look foolish. 1,000 hours would be 8 hours a day for 6 months. Do you expect anyone to believe that you did this?

    Uh...yeah, right!

If you have that many apps and folders on your iDevices, then you deserve to have devices that no longer work and completely bricked with NO solution in sight.

What are you trying to prove by doing this? iDevices are not full blown laptop or desktop computers.

These devices have limits. This will be the same for any mobile device.

And no one believes your 1000 hour baloney!

Again, 8.4.1 worked fine under these conditions

I have worked every hour night and day on this since 9.x was released to solve this - as Apple Techs can attest from contact on phone, tests and emails all hours or fhe day and night.

Interesting that this "community" has now turned into trolls.

I asked a simple question about why you're trying to do this, what the goal is. Sometimes, if people understand what you're trying to do, they can approach things from a different angle and give you suggestions for paths you haven't considered.

However, when you start spouting nonsense like:

I have worked every hour night and day on this since 9.x was released to solve this

You lose a lot of credibility.

The fact that between the launch of iOS 9 and today, minus the 1000 hours you've spent on this "issue", you've only had 272 hours to sleep, eat, bathe and work may explain a lot.

Luckily I do not care what anyone here believes.

The only people that matter work for Apple and they know it is true.

Not what some trolls think on an Apple "Community" Forum.

    @bobseufert

After your post, I have worked for another 6 hours, reloading iOS 9.0 from itunes on a 6s+ 128GB and installing 1100 apps while setup as a new device with no folders.

1002 installed (while this number is never the same, this is just when i tested it with a power cycle to test whether it was bricked.

    Same results as above.

According to Apple, for years, You can install as many apps as you have memory for.

However, there was an issue widely reported that was only solved with 8.4.

It appears iOS 9.x broke the fix, although the end results are not the same. Pre 8.4 the device would just constantly reboot. Post 9.x the device turns into a "Zombie" where no apps can be deleted, updated, installed, backed up or restored.
