Apple TV (4th Gen) incompatibility with CYP HDBaseT (Maybe CEC related)

Hi All,

Just sharing an issue I have discovered with the new Apple TV. I have the new Apple TV and also the CYP PU-514L-TX/RX. There seems to be an incompatibility whereby the units cannot establish a link from a cold start.

My Setup is as follows:

Inputs (Virgin Media Tivo, LG Bluray Player, Apple TV) -> Onkyo TX-NR906 Receiver -> CYP PU-514L-TX->CYP PU-514L-RX->Pioneer 428XD Plasma.

Everything has worked perfectly for over a year until I replaced the Apple TV with the newest 4th Gen unit this weekend.

In order to get it to work I have to power up the Receiver with the Apple TV HDMI->Receiver completely unplugged. For example using the Virgin Media as an input. Then I have to physically connect the Apple TV HDMI and then switch to that source. This must be done with Apple TV and Receiver CEC (HDMI Control) both OFF.

Other scenarios that don't work.

Leaving the Apple TV connected to the receiver before powering it up, EVEN IF the receiver is set to another source, like virgin media. DOES NOT WORK

Bypassing the receiver and plugging directly from the Apple TV to the CYP PU-514L-TX. DOES NOT WORK

Having any kind of HDMI control (CEC) channels enabled on either the Apple TV or the Receiver, as this seems to re-initiate the connection and then the connection is dropped. DOES NOT WORK

The other ways to get it work are to

Bypass the PU-514L-TX and PU-514L-RX units completely and go straight from the Receiver to the TV - WORKS

Plug the Apple TV straight into the TV - WORKS.

I know its the CYP units that fall over as they loose the Orange light completely - no flashing orange, nothing.

Many Thanks

Ben

Here's my setup (it's sort of, but not really working):

Apple TV 4 > Yamaha RX-V473 receiver > HDBaseT > Epson 2030 Projector

I can push the TV button on the ATV remote from everything being off, and here's the weird part.... the ATV and projector turns on, but the AVR stays OFF!

After I manually turn on the AVR, the volume buttons on the remote still don't work.

Powering it all off via the remote DOES work though.

SIGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Hunting for a new AVR that is known to work flawless with the Apple TV.
