Nov 1, 2015 8:37 AM in response to triguy101by Steve Neal,According to : Use Bluetooth accessories with your Apple TV (4th generation) - Apple Support You can use one Siri Remote OR Apple TV remote.
However I'm using both a Siri Remote AND an Apple TV (IR) remote - so even if you can't pair two Siri remotes to one box, you can use an IR remote additionally.

Nov 1, 2015 8:48 AM in response to Steve Nealby triguy101,So I am guessing I should not spend $100 to buy and extra Siri remote then. Instead, use the older IR remote which would not be able to operate sound and other features of the Siri remote.

The Apple IR remote (or any IR remote for that matter - as you can learn keys for other remotes in the Apple TV Remote Settings) will allow you to do most things, but you don't get volume control (that I've yet found) and you don't get Siri control (though that is pretty limited at the moment) -
