You can sometimes get it to work with older drivers.

This ends up a lot like installing windows stuff.. LOL!!
El Capo is too new to get extensive help unless someone has the exact setup and has posted a column.. but google search..
The other way is to share the printer from windows and use it on your Mac.. only that means you have to maintain a windows computer.

The reason is the utility is not for serving the printer to the network.. but for accessing the printer from the device in question.
This is what happens all the time now.. we buy new equipment and then are forced up update printers and scanners and everything else.
It is deliberate planned redundancy.
That is why the next printer you buy must be network type.. and should NOT be HP.
