Q: Can't install iTunes -- error message 126?

Installed iTunes 12.3 on 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium. Keep getting Windows Error 126 "iTunes did not install correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)." I did uninstall and reinstall twice and am still receiving message. I did make certain I downloaded Windows 7 64bit version. Don't know what the problem is or how to correct it. The music plays but the error message pops up every minute or so. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi,

Apart from iTunes, you will need to uninstall its related components too.

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support

I have the same problem and removed all related components and reinstalled and it did nothing. Still getting the same error message... I have even tried it on a different computer and the same issue

Click on the link below and follow the instructions exactly as listed ~ verbatim. It worked for me on the first try and this was after many many times of installing and uninstalling iTunes. Hopefully it will work for you too. I know how frustrating this is!! Good luck to you.
