avermedia tv tuner problem

I would appreciate if i could get some help regarding the use of a tv tuner. The device is an avertv hybrid volar m h830 tv tuner stick and i am using it since snow leopard osx without any major problems. The issue concerns its fuction after the el capitan update. The device is not recognized since the update. More specifically the device can be seen on system report under the usb device tree. However when i install the avermedia software i get a can not find the device message. I have done several actions like reseting ram, searching for updates or installing third party software but i am out of any solution. I use a late 2013 imac. Please any help would extremely appriciated.

i send an email to avemedia and the response was...

Sorry let you know that because H830M has been discontinued, so we just only support upgrade to Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite, the support beta version as below for your reference ( Note : This is beta version, please keep update if it is release on our official website, thank you very much. )

1. Download software from FTP site :

ftp server: ftp3.avermedia.com

login: alexho-read

Password:8cRc6DS3

path: MAC 10.10 Beta Release

filename: AVerTV_2.5.3.dmg

2. After download from FTP, drag AverTV.dmg file to desktop

3. Remove the previous software version: click on dmg file to open it, select Uninstall, check Program list and Scheduled recordings etc. to completely remove

4. Install the new software, drag AverTV manually to Application folder to run installation

Again, we won't update MAC OS to 10.11 El Capitan or later, sorry if cause you any inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.

after doing all the above, the installation failed and i have still no device connected

Same here - and when I went to Windows 10, AverMedia gave me same issue, its old, upgrade

So now my mac and win systems both not working with Avermedia.

(however I wrote an article on getting the Windows one working but still looking for Apple

Thought would check if there was a work around for El Capitan, but does not look like it , yet!

Very true. Especially the Mac customers. Even the dealers are rude and unaccommodating attitude towards the customers - in Kolkata, India, There is only one person who is a distributor of Aver Media. He sells on one specific condition - which can be called as monopoly. If a customer buys any Aver Media product from him, he won't take it back! Whether the product has any manufacturing defect or not - that's upto the customer - not his headache. His name is Abhishek. Mobile number is nine-three-three-nine-two-zero-seven-five-one-nine !
